A few examples of the type of work we've done and you'll easily see that Dave's Window Guys are much more than your typical window company.

Last fall an elderly couple with a fairly new home thought their windows were cold.  Their casement windows had good seals and no rotten wood.  The problem was due to the fact that the glass itself was cold which created a convection current of air circulating around the window.  We advised them to have inside storms made.  The cost was minimal and the problem was solved.

Another couple had windows which were about 25 years old.  The sashes were still good, but they were of the type that to replace the glass alone would only give them about ten years of service at the most.  We knew this from experience.  Knowing they wanted to pas the house to their children or grand-children, we suggested they install vinyl inserts with a long-lasting glass made in Germany.  The glass package has a 50 year warranty ... no matter who owns the house!

A successful businessman had a 13-year-old home with fluted brick moulding.  Though the windows were from a very reputable company they had been installed incorrectly.  Our solution was to replace the storms, which were badly rotted, repair with consolidant those places which had minimal damage, and add weep holes to all the storms. (This last step - an important one - had been neglected in the original installation.)  The cost was minimal when compared  with replacing all the windows.  When we were done the house looked like new and the windows are good for many more years of service.

A family had decided to put their home up for sale.  Unfortunately, some of the windows had foggy seals in need of repair.  The owner did not want to install new windows becuase the new owners would probably want to replace the windows to suit their own tastes ... but, the windows needed to be good in order to sell the house. We repaired the minimally rotting wood and changed to the insulated glass units only.
